What is Synchronous FTTP (sFTTP) and how does it differ from FTTP broadband?

Synchronous FTTP (sFTTP) has been created to sit between Ultrafast FTTP broadband and a dedicated fibre leased line. 

Leased Line Speeds

As of today, FTTP can only reach speeds of up to 1.8Gbps on the FTTP 1800 product. But sFTTP can already reach a whopping 5Gbps on our sFTTP product.

Synchronous

As the name suggests, with sFTTP you get the same download and upload speeds. This differs from your standard ultrafast broadband range as upload speeds differ from the advertising download speeds. 

Guaranteed bandwidth

With sFTTP, 20% of the download and upload speeds are guaranteed with the rest burstable to the full advertised amount. For example if you ordered sFTTP 1000 you would be guaranteed 100Mbps download/upload but when available you would receive the full 1000Mbps (1Gbps)

FibreFlex

sFTTP follows our commitment to allow our clients to upgrade their service even if they’re in contract. For example, if you are currently on sFTTP 100 and after one month you wish to upgrade to sFTTP 1000, you can do so without paying off your existing contract. We will upgrade you, change your invoice to the new amount and this will begin a new contract term at the faster speeds.

Rapid Installation

sFTTP installation is the same as standard FTTP, with an estimated connection time of just 10 working days. If your building is already connected to the sFTTP network, it can be as quick as 48 hours.

Cost-effective

As you would expect for a product that sits between FTTP and a leased line, the costs do the same.
